Based on the experiences listed above we have found there is a dire need for children, teens and young adults to gather in a safe place for spiritual, cultural, positive life skills training and recreational activities. Therefore, we have accepted our mandate from God to work tirelessly to build and operate
KUMANEE Englewood Peace Youth and Community Center.
KUMANEE ENGLEWOOD PEACE YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CENTER PROSPECTUS
The proposed KUMANEE Englewood Peace Youth and Community Center will be developed to serve children ages 5-12, teenagers ages 12-19, and young adults ages 20-25. There will be a major emphasis on programs that build character and bring all ages groups together, along with parents and adults to learn how to respect the gift of life given to us by God.
Our operational concept is that all services will be free to all community residents.
Even though all services will be offered at no charge, all KUMANEE Englewood Peace Youth and Community Center participants will be required to adhere to a “Peacemakers Code of Conduct”.
This will assure that a proper learning, morals development and Black Love environment will be maintained.
“At home, at school, at work, at play, at church,
Peacemaking is the order of each day”
We will develop partnerships with Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the Boy and Girl Scouts Organization, among others, to develop resources to provide support to fund our program offerings.
We envision the facility as a multi-purpose building with a gym for indoor sports activities, a weight room and exercise equipment. Wall partitions will provide classrooms, meeting spaces for large group activities and community meetings. A portable stage will provide an auditorium setting for talent shows and plays, and other performances. Kitchen facilities for food service and bathrooms will be on site.
We contacted Howard Garrison’s, Triad Architectural and was informed that our land meets city requirement to build a facility in the range of 7,500 to 10,000 square feet.
BE A SPONSOR!
We need sponsorships through-out all levels of donors to generate funds for the construction and materials needed to complete this God ordained project.
We are requesting your support as a sponsor. By choosing one of our sponsor donations options on the following page, you become a part of our foundational effort to develop seed money to start our project. To quote one of Safe Haven youth, “We are thankful we have a safe place to come, to get off the streets”.
Join us and see the vision, we own the land west of our church and it has been dormant for 12 years, now it is time to build!
